Mauritian Fresh Tomato Chutney

Tomato Chutney is a condiment that can be served with several mauritian dishes. It really enhances the flavor of various dishes and provides some additional fiber too. 

 

For 4 serves: 
 

Ingredients: 

2 large ripe tomatoes

½ red onion or 1 chalotte onion 

½ bunch coriander

1 birds eye chili or cayenne chili 

1 teaspoon salt

Crack pepper

 

Note: Birds eye chili is significantly more spicy than cayenne chili. If you prefer a mild chutney, opt for cayenne chili. 

 

Preparation: 

Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the seeds. Chop the tomatoes 

Chop the onion, coriander and chili

Mix all ingredients including salt and pepper
